Donald Eason, a pastor and the president of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), recently appeared on the Point of View Radio Show, hosted by Kerby Anderson.
Eason and Anderson began by discussing Democrats’ claim that requiring black Americans to show photo ID before they vote is Jim Crow 2.0.
The SAVE America Act is a bill that would require proof of citizenship to register to vote as well as photo ID to vote in federal elections. This measure would save America and protect the integrity of the country’s elections.
“Our mission here at CURE is to promote faith, freedom, family, and personal responsibility,” Eason said. “And to show an ID is saying that we’re members of this country, we’re citizens of this country, and we’re of age and have the right to vote.”
Black Americans fought and died for the right to vote. To say that we don’t need an ID to vote (and implying that black Americans are too dumb/lazy to go to the DMV to get a photo ID like everyone else) is to “take away all that we’ve fought for in this country.”
Eason and Anderson touch on several more topics, including CURE working with pastors through the CURE Clergy Network.
Listen to Eason’s segment below, which ends around 20:50.
