Kansas Governor Vetoed a Bill That Would Protect Women’s Privacy and Safety — Lawmakers Just Overrode It

Lawmakers in Kansas sent their Democratic governor a bill that would protect girls’ and women’s privacy in their spaces. Governor Laura Kelly did what was expected of a leftist.

She apparently believes that men living a fantasy and who expect others to go along with it have superior rights over women’s rights. Gov. Kelly vetoed the bill on Friday.

The legislature on Tuesday overrode her veto. Girls and women in Kansas no longer have to worry about men in their restrooms, changing rooms, and other private spaces in government buildings, schools, and universities.

From KMBC:

“This isn’t about scoring political points, but doing what’s right for women and girls across our communities,” Hawkins said. “Kansans expect clarity, not confusion. They expect leadership, not surrender to radical activists.”

“Today, the legislature made it clear: reality will always override ideology,” he added.

Kelly vetoed the bill Friday, calling it poorly drafted and warning it would have sweeping consequences and impose significant costs on state and local governments.

The bill also defines male and female at birth and requires the correct sex to be listed on driver’s licenses and birth certificates.
