Leftists just can’t stop advocating for the killing of unborn babies.
The U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade (1973) and Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992) in 2022 — a decision that sent the issue back to the states. And some states wasted no time codifying abortion.
But leftists are not satisfied with merely aborting babies. They still want you to pay for it.
A coalition of 22 states, led by California, sued the federal government for blocking Medicaid funds to large abortion facilities after Congress passed a law in 2025 that blocked these funds for abortion providers like Planned Parenthood.
The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) announced last week that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit issued a preliminary injunction against the coalition, blocking any Medicaid dollars for large abortion providers.
The appeals court also ruled that the new law could go into effect immediately while the case is pending. An excerpt (emphasis in original):
The appeals court demolished every argument this massive state coalition threw at the law. The states claimed Section 71113 was too vague and didn’t give them adequate notice. The court disagreed. It found the federal government made a “strong showing” that the law’s requirements are sufficiently clear – exactly what we argued in our brief.
ACLJ said the First Circuit acknowledged its amicus brief in the order issuing the preliminary injunction, but denied it as moot. Apparently at this stage, such briefs aren’t necessary.
The fight to protect unborn babies and block our hard-earned money from funding their deaths rages on.
