Planned Parenthood Got Its Title X Funding — Here’s Why a Former Trump Admin Official Thinks It’s Not All Bad News

The Trump administration just released taxpayers’ money to abortion mill Planned Parenthood under Title X family planning grants.

The first question disappointed pro-life Americans have is why?

The ACLU sued the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for withholding over $65 million in Title X grants to clinics and dropped the lawsuit on Monday after clinics got their money.

But all is not what it seems, according to a former administration official.

The Daily Signal reported that the former official said that “HHS was caught in a tough spot because the judge was almost certainly going to rule against them and they would have had to restore the funding under Biden era rules, possibly with interest and attorneys fees on top for Planned Parenthood.”

Now that HHS no longer is litigating this particular issue, the administration supposedly is in a better position to cut federal funding to Planned Parenthood “under Trump era rules and that will be the true test of the president’s promise to end taxpayer funding of the abortion industry.”

Patrick Brown, a family policy scholar at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, told The Daily Signal that Planned Parenthood would have had a stronger legal case had the Title X funds remained frozen.

Had Planned Parenthood won the case, Brown said, “it could make future litigation harder to win.”

Even so, it smells like a failure for the pro-life cause.

President Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., HHS secretary, said they had no clue about the released funds.

“I don’t know anything about that,” said President Trump, according to The Daily Caller.

“I haven’t heard that,” Kennedy said.
