“If one accepts the position that life is private, and therefore you have the right to do with it as you please, one must also accept the conclusion of that logic. That was the premise of slavery.”
Jesse Jackson wrote these words almost 40 years ago in an article for Right to Life News. Today, this same man now advocates for the “right” to slaughter the unborn.
He said that abortion “takes away from the young man the responsibility, and from the young woman the responsibility, of the act they have engaged in. When people begin to use the excuses like, ‘this girl is not ready yet,’ it means that the law of convenience becomes the highest law, and that is a very dangerous precedent morally, even before it becomes political!”
Jackson also noted how abortion advocates dehumanize babies in the womb.
“They never talk about aborting a ‘baby’ because that would imply something human. Rather they talk about aborting the ‘fetus.’ ‘Fetus’ sounds less than human, and therefore can be justified.”
LifeSiteNews reported on Jackson’s politically expedient change of heart. After the vice-presidential debate earlier this month, a pro-lifer asked Jackson about his present view on abortion. A woman named Terry Beatley, who runs an organization called the Hosea Initiative, introduced herself to Jackson and said:
“Reverend Jackson, I would like to know why 30 years ago you helped to expose the racist population control plan of Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, and now today, you don’t say anything about it. It is killing more black people than all diseases, accidents, and homicides added together. Why don’t you help expose it anymore?”
Beatley said Jackson wouldn’t make eye contact with her.
“I could tell he was trying to come up with an answer, but he has no answer.” Then he left.
Jackson, who calls himself a reverend, a minister of God’s people, once supported the Hyde Amendment as well. This annually renewed law bars abortion funding through Medicaid, except in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother’s life. Part of the Democratic party’s platform is to overturn this law.
