Bureaucrats in Cabarrus County Schools are in more legal trouble.
Three girls at a high school in the school district filed a lawsuit to stop a policy that allows boys access to their restrooms and changing rooms. The school district, which is also under federal investigation, does not care about their privacy or safety.
Now a father with children in the school district has accused officials of failing to notify him about the “transgender” policy. He does not want his children to have to undress in front of children of the opposite sex.
America First Legal (AFL), which represents the three girls, also represents Brandon Matthews, who has a son and daughter.
According to AFL, Matthews asked their school principals to let him know whether his children were expected to see boys in girls’ facilities, and vice versa.
Both principals said they couldn’t confirm whether his children’s privacy would be violated. Matthews filed a federal lawsuit to protect his free exercise and due process rights.
“This case is a simple scenario of a father attempting to protect his children,” said Nick Barry, senior counsel at AFL. “School officials dodging common-sense questions from parents will not be tolerated. AFL is proud to stand by Mr. Matthews, and we remain committed to fighting parental rights nationwide.”
