University of Washington Faces Civil Rights Complaint Over ‘All-Gender’ Restroom Policy

Whoever made the decision to designate restrooms “all-gender” across the University of Washington campuses must feel proud, depriving women of privacy and undermining their safety.

How many women are afraid to say anything at the risk of being bullied out of school? Would they rather take their chances sharing a private space with a man than standing up to their peers? Help for concerned women at the University of Washington who don’t like it could be on the way.

Defending Education, a group determined to stop indoctrination and other harmful agendas in taxpayer-supported schools, filed a federal civil rights complaint (PDF) with the U.S. Department of Education against the school.

Defending Ed contends that this “all-gender” restroom policy violates Title IX protections for female employees, students, and guests. An excerpt (emphasis added):

For example, the university’s “Transgender Resources for UW Employees” document clarifies that the University permits male employees to enter female students’ restrooms and locker rooms at will, based on the employee’s personal comfort level.

If women are uncomfortable, what are their options? Feminists should be in an uproar. Or perhaps they’re afraid to speak up for women in the age of “transgender women,” who dominate and threaten violence?
