Virginia Democrats Implore SCOTUS to Save Their Illegal Race-Based Redistricting Map

Virginia residents voted to approve a plan to redraw the congressional map to carve out districts based on race, which the Virginia Supreme Court declared illegal.

Now Virginia Democrats have asked their state’s highest court to pause its ruling while they appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court — to strike it down.

Jay Jones, Virginia’s attorney general, submitted a brief to the Supreme Court to allow the state to use the unconstitutional map in the 2026 midterms. The high court likely won’t do it. But what does it hurt to try? Well, Virginia’s AG embarrassed himself by filing the brief to the wrong court: Virginia Supreme Court instead of the Supreme Court.

Democrats are desperate, and without sowing division between the races, facilitating voting by illegal aliens, and undermining election integrity, they don’t have much to offer.
