As of July 2025, 32 states are complying with President Donald Trump’s executive order banning schools and educational programs that receive federal dollars from allowing boys and men on girls’ and women’s sports teams.
State lawmakers have passed their own laws to protect women’s sports, but that hasn’t stopped leftists from filing lawsuits to stop enforcement.
The U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether barring males from undermining fair competition for women in sports and risking their safety violates Title IX. Leftists claim the word “sex” in Title IX, which was created to protect women, includes “gender identity.”
Every single thinking human being on the planet knows that men are generally taller, larger, quicker, and stronger than women. Men have less fat and more muscles, larger hearts, and greater lung capacity. Under every measure, men have huge physical advantages over women.
The high court’s decision should be to protect women and the integrity of women’s sports. We’ll find out.
Liberty Counsel announced that the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in two consolidated cases in January 2026.
Idaho was the first state to pass a Fairness in Women’s Sports bill. A federal judge blocked the law, and the fight to protect women’s safety and maintain fair competition escalated. That case is Little v. Hecox.
West Virginia passed a similar laws to protect fairness in women’s sports. Then a boy filed a lawsuit against the West Virginia Board of Education for refusing to allow him to join a girls’ sports team. A lower court ruled in the state’s favor, but an appeals court issued an injunction. The Supreme Court upheld the injunction. That case is West Virginia v. B. P. J.
From Liberty Counsel, which submitted an amicus brief in the case:
Regarding U.S. Olympic teams, the U.S. Olympic Committee has already announced it will adhere to strict male and female competitors according to President Donald Trump’s executive order, “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” which directs fair and safe competition for female sports.
This is excellent news. If the high court needs to be persuaded, perhaps the Olympic Committee’s decision will help — if common sense doesn’t.
