Court Orders Mandatory Free Speech Training for Ohio School District Employees After Unconstitutional Pronoun Policy — You Know They Hate It

Employees in the Olentangy Local School District in Ohio will have to undergo training in the First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of speech after administrators created a new category of prohibited speech: “misgendering.”

Their excuse for this obvious constitutional violation? They wanted to promote “inclusion” for a boy pretending to be a girl and prevent bullying.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit held the pronoun policy unconstitutional last November.

Defending Education reported the latest in the case. A federal court ordered the school district not to enforce the pronoun policy. They also must undergo mandatory free speech training. Leftists in the school district probably hate this part of the order more than the other.

The Olentangy Local School District may not enact speech codes and punish students for refusing to lie.
