Pastor Donald Eason, CURE’s President: Churches Are Invited Back to the Table

Scott Turner, secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) said on X that Joe Biden shut out faith-based organizations when addressing the crisis of homelessness.

But President Donald Trump has opened the door under HUD’s Continuum of Care Program, designed to promote a “community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness.”

Government has taken over the role of the church, as the Center for Urban Renewal and Education’s (CURE) former president, Star Parker, said at CURE’s recent clergy summit.

In response to Secretary Turner’s comment, Donald Eason, a pastor and CURE’s current president, said on X that churches are invited back to the table “to help save our nation.”

“The Pastor’s voice needs to be heard more than ever before with the message of Jesus Christ,” he wrote. “Not through government dependency, but with the message of Faith in God, Freedom to exercise our faith and the personal responsibility of helping our communities, our families and our children with the God given talents we all have.”

Every Christian can agree with Pastor Eason.

“John F. Kennedy famously said, ‘ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country,'” he added. “Thank you @SecretaryTurner for hearing us. We at @CUREpolicy stand with you to help save our country through faith, freedom, family and personal responsibility.”

What you can do for your country.

Unfortunately, Americans don’t talk that way anymore.

Saving our country through faith, freedom, family and personal responsibility.

Thank you, Pastor Eason, for reminding us that we must stand together as Americans and as Christians to get this country back on track.
