Washington can’t heal what is broken in America.
Government programs can’t restore families. Bureaucrats can’t rebuild neighborhoods. Laws have their place, but they can’t change the human heart.
Only the Gospel can do that.
That is why the Center for Urban Renewal and Education’s (CURE) Clergy Network is so important.
Every October, pastors in our network travel to Washington, D.C., for CURE’s National Clergy Summit. They come to better understand the public policies that affect the families in their communities and to learn how faith, freedom, and personal responsibility offer lasting solutions where government programs have failed.
These pastors preach the Gospel. They counsel married couples. They mentor young men without fathers. They comfort grieving families, visit the sick, encourage the discouraged, and remind people that every life has God-given dignity and purpose.
No government official knows a neighborhood the way a faithful pastor does.
When these leaders gather, they hear from policy experts, learn from one another, and return home with renewed encouragement and practical tools to better serve their churches and communities.
Unfortunately, many pastors can’t afford to attend. This is why CURE created the National Pastors Summit Emergency Fund.
Some pastors only need help paying for gas. Others need assistance with airfare or a hotel room. A gift of $1,000 can sponsor a pastor and his wife, allowing them to participate in this life-changing event.
This year, more than 300 pastors need financial assistance to attend the National Clergy Summit. Nearly 1,000 black pastors in CURE’s network are faithfully serving communities across America, strengthening families, defending religious liberty, expanding educational opportunity, and offering hope where dependency and despair have taken root.

Like many non-profits, CURE experiences a significant slowdown in charitable giving during the summer months, even as preparations for the summit accelerate. Donations decline, but the work still needs to be done.
