CURE Supports the Chloe Cole Act to Protect Children from ‘Gender-Affirming Care’ Mutilation

The Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE) joined over 100 conservative leaders in supporting the Chloe Cole Act, which would establish clear legal protections for children and ensure that medical providers are accountable for mutilating them under “gender-affirming care,” which could render children permanently sterile.

A woman named Chloe Cole is the victim of “transitioning” as a minor and testified about the consequences she’ll deal with for the rest of her life.

According to the Conservative Action Project (CAP), the bill would protect minors from “medical transgender interventions, including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgical procedures, by placing clear liability on clinics and hospitals that perform or facilitate such treatments on children.”

If the bill becomes law, victims of this mutilation and their families will have a private right of action to sue medical providers. From CAP:

“The conservative movement has long stood for the protection of children, the rights of families, and the principle that powerful institutions must be held accountable when they cause harm. The Chloe Cole Act embodies those principles. We urge Congress to swiftly consider the legislation and urge its passage.”

The bill’s supporters include Kenneth Blackwell; Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council; Donald T. Eason, president of CURE; Marty Dannenfelser, vice president for Government Relations and Coalitions at CURE; Wesley Denton, CEO of Conservative Partnership Institute;  Bishop E.W. Jackson Sr., founder and president of STAND Foundation, Inc.; Kristen A. Ullman, president of Eagle Forum; Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel; Judson Phillips, founder of Tea Party Nation; and Kristen Waggoner, CEO, president, and chief counsel of Alliance Defending Freedom.
